hi. i am first time user of virtual dub and want to digitalise some of my vhs-tapes.
and i have a problem with the audio capture. when i have this preview screen (already in capture mode but before i start capturing) everything is alright. the video is good and the audio sounds good. but i have problems then when i try to capture audio.
with the following capture settings:
video frame rate: 25
drop % limit: 5
and do NOT lock video stream to audio
>>> video looks good. but audio is soooo much faster than the video... it goes about twice as fast as the video...
with the following capture settings:
video frame rate: 1
drop % limit:5
and do NOT lock video stream to audio
>>> video is crappy (cos of the low frame rate), but audio has the right (normal) speed!
usage:
i am using a "asus geforce2 gts v7700". and the above options i used with the normal capture mode. if i DO lock video stream to audio and use the compatibility mode the video runs as fast as the audio. and the audio runns sooo fast :-( !
the timing is also activated. and i have sound onboard.
hope u can help me somehow!

1. Does it happen with all video files?
i try to capture from vhs!
2. What version of VirtualDub and/or VirtualDubMod are you using? (The version number is in the top bar)
1.5.4
3. If you are using VirtualDub, does it also happen if you are using VirtualDubMod? If you are using VirtualDubMod, does it also happen if you are using VirtualDub?
didn't try that
4. If saving a file in VirtualDubMod, does it have the same problem if you save to AVI, OGM, or MKV?
5. Does it make any difference if you select a different Video/Audio codec as the compressor?
didN't even compress it. error is @ capturing!
6. Go to File -> File Information and copy all of the information into the post.
7. When exactly does the error/problem occur? Openning the file? When you click the Save button? Partway through the save process? At the end of the save process?
@capturing...
8. What is the EXACT error message? If it just brings up the debug dialog, then say so. Saying, "I got an error." means nothing to anyone.
9. What Operating system are you using?
winxp
